EIOPA - EIOPA Chair Gabriel Bernardino extended for second 5-year term
Attraverso una news release, pubblicata sul sito del Parlamento europeo in data 1° dicembre, è stato reso noto l’esito di uno scrutinio avvenuto in seno all’Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (ECON), il cui esito ha sancito il prolungamento del mandato a suo tempo conferito ai Presidenti di EIOPA (European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority), EBA (European Banking Authority) ed ESMA (European Securities and Markets Authorities).
Per i tre Presidenti - Gabriel Bernardino (EIOPA), Andrea Enria (EBA) e Steven Majioor (ESMA) -, alla guida delle Autorità di vigilanza costituite nel 2011, si tratta del secondo mandato.
I Parlamentari europei membri dell’ECON Committee hanno anche deliberato l’estensione del mandato agli attuali Executive Directors in carica, Adam Farkas per EBA e Verena Ross per ESMA.
La decisione è avvenuta a seguito di una public hearing dei tre Presidenti e di un draft report(1). La procedura di estensione del mandato si è conclusa in data 16 dicembre, con il voto favorevole dell’Assemblea plenaria del Parlamento europeo (2).
